Our focus

Our Focus
80% of the people working in the global garment production are, quite strikingly, women between 18 and 35 years old. Many of these women have children themselves, yet only a few have access to the most basic necessities. For us, running a responsible business fundamentally revolves around solidarity. Dressing our children well should not come at the expense of others.

At VACVAC studio, we work comprehensively with social and environmental responsibility - closely collaborating with our skilled suppliers. However, we also see our retailers and customers as an integral part of our value chain. The fact is, each of us has enormous influence, and as a brand, we understand that we have a significant responsibility to educate and raise awareness about the impact of our clothing. Therefore, in 2023, we are launching several projects intended to engage you - we hope you'll want to join us.

"We all must take responsibility for making the best decisions - both producers and suppliers, retailers, and consumers. VACVAC studio takes the first steps and works for proper and conscientious production. The next step is to involve the consumer." – Signe, owner of VACVAC studio.

We Refuse to Compromise
We refuse to compromise on the safety, wages, and rights of factory workers. However, ensuring this relies on documentation, goodwill, and integrity from all parties. Therefore, our suppliers are all selected based on their openness and social as well as environmental certifications and initiatives. It is crucial for us that there is alignment between the values of the supplier and ours, and that there is mutual trust so that we can together address any challenges. For example, our suppliers, like ourselves, are GOTS-certified, meaning they have agreed to adhere to, and be checked according to, best practices for social and environmental responsibility. You can read more about the GOTS certification here.

"We work incredibly closely with the people who make our clothes. Therefore, it has also become a personal struggle for me to ensure they receive recognition, respect, and proper wages. Of course, they deserve that - they produce a piece of craftsmanship!" – Signe, owner of VACVAC studio.

Certified Quality Materials
Our materials fall into two categories - certified organic fibers and organic fibers. However, what is common for the materials is that we have high demands on how they perform in use. A good example of the former is our Better Basic collection, which consists exclusively of GOTS-certified organic materials, while parts of our interior cannot obtain certification, as fillings, primarily batting, cannot be GOTS certified by default, but are produced and developed together with and by the same supplier as the GOTS certified goods, hence we can guarantee good and thorough CSR that meets GOTS 6.0.

We also always seek to minimize waste where we can. The GOTS-certified materials ensure that requirements are set for everything from organic cultivation and chemicals used to wastewater treatment and social responsibility - all the way from the field to VACVAC. VACVAC believes that good quality is the right choice. We produce thoroughly tested and long-lasting basic products.

Durability and Slowness
A significant part of our responsibility lies in producing clothes for a long lifespan, so hopefully, you can get by with buying less but better. We test our materials and styles carefully, so we know how they fare, for example, in washing, and although we run both a boys' and a girls' collection, all our designs are made to be gender-neutral - and thus easily saved for a possible younger sibling. We launch two annual collections in several drops, supplemented by a few styles within the interior and bedding categories. However, the majority of our styles recur year after year - because we don't believe clothes or design become "too old" just because the season changes.
